Lub-dub, lub-dub at super fast speed

We had our 10 week OB appointment today and got to hear the baby's heart beat via the fetal heart tone Doppler. It took our doctor a little while to find it, which made my a little nervous, but I know it usually takes a while, since our baby is only about the size of a grape right now and could be anywhere in the wide expanse of my growing uterus. She did find it though- 166 bpm! Sounds like we might have interrupted Baby Zucchini's workout session this morning. Not surprising, if he/she takes after Jordan...

In other news, I either brought back head lice from Belize or I have a sunburn on my scalp that is peeling because my head itches like crazy. I suppose I could be experiencing my first case of dandruff ever... either way, I have a check-up with student health tomorrow to see what's going on with that.

Jordan and I were notified of what the entirety of our OB/GYN experience would cost and were pleasantly suprised. Turns out that student health insurance doesn't suck so bad afterall. For 13 prenatal visits and a 4 day stay in the hospital (for a vaginal delivery), the grand total was $2600, of which we only have to pay 20% after our deductible. So we only have to pay a little over $700 for EVERYTHING. Unbelieveable. So while my health insurance doesn't cover reasonable things like preventative care (including pap smears and vaccinations), it apparently is in support of making this whole pregnancy thing affordable.

I also received an update today from HP about my computer. Evidently it is in-hate with me now. They replaced the keyboard and system board today, and when they turned it on, there was a hum and a "burning smell, like burnt plastic." That's not good... so, they're going to replace a whole list of other things and get back to me in 2-3 weeks. I get to keep using the loaner until then. Thank GOD for accident insurance!

And, though the nausea and vomiting aspects of pregnancy are still in full swing, I didn't take a single nap today! That's progress!!!
