fingernails? Really?

Juno: The baby? I don't know anything about it yet. I only know that it's got fingernails, allegedly.
Bren: Nails? Really?

Today we are officially 11 weeks pregnant, and, according to What to Expect, our baby is developing fingernails this week and should be about 2 inches long.

The best news ever is that I haven't gotten sick in the past couple of days and though I had to take a quick 20-minute power nap yesterday (I blame it on the drizzly weather), I haven't been nearly as exhausted as before. It might have something to do with the copious amounts of sugar I've been eating lately (thank you, Easter Bunny!!!), but I'd like to think it's because we're approaching the second trimester. This newly regained alertness will be much appreciated and necessary, since I have an exam on Friday, another one on Monday, and a third on Wednesday. Then I get a little break and three weeks later I'll have three more exams to mark the end of my didactic years as a medical student! With Boards coming up on June 11th, I'll need all the energy I can muster to study. When I interviewed at KU, my interviewer posed the question of "what will you do if you aren't accepted?" to which I responded "well, I will either go to one of the other schools to which I've been accepted or I'll become a stay-at-home mom." That plan is sounding sweeter all the time...
