And the real countdown begins- 1 month until our due date!
Today Jordan and I purchased a digital video camera and new digital camera so that we can capture the little one's every move for all of you who won't be able to see us very often. Jordan's having fun figuring out our new gadgets while I sit on the couch and try to nurse myself back to health- I woke up yesterday morning with a terribly sore throat, which persisted into today. After downing plenty of fluids, including gatorade, tea with honey and hot cocoa, and gargling salt water, my throat is feeling much better; but, now my sinuses are draining nasty-colored discharge and I have the most unbelievable back pain. I'm trying to just rest, but I might have to break down and take some tylenol. No fever, cough, headache, chills, fatigue, nausea or vomiting, so I'm going to assume I don't have the flu... yet, anyway. Thankfully I'm around healthcare workers all the time, so I'm sure they'll keep a close eye on me.
Contractions have started coming more frequently now. I'd say I'm having 8-10 of them per day. Hopefully this little one stays inside his/her clubhouse for another 2 weeks- my rotation ends on Oct. 16th.
Today I was feeling quite domestic. I made pancakes for breakfast, cleaned house, made us a nice dinner (chicken parmesean; okay, out of a bag) complete with an appetizer (spinach artichoke dip (from scratch!)) and made some fall decorations. I had bought some of those mini styrofoam pumpkins and apples at Michael's today, so I cut out a hole in the top of each one and put in a tealight candle. So cute! I'd post pictures, but Jordan's playing with the camera. ;)
Tomorrow it's back to the real world- I have a week and a half of clinic responsibilities, followed by a few days of testing before I'm done with school until January 4th! Also, tomorrow night we get to go take a tour of the labor and delivery unit at the hospital. I'm pretty stoked to check out these birthing suites!
