In the car, on the way to the zoo:
At the entrance:
Here's us with Ean, Abby and Chasen. Marshall LOVES the fish in the aquarium!
Marshall and Daddy in the indoor rainforest:
The monkeys were Marshall's favorite, but they would only let us pose with these metal ones...
We're excited because last night when we were walking the dogs, we discovered that the neighbors a couple of doors down from us are in our age demographic! They have a little daughter who is three and loves Marshall already. Jordan even went to the same high school as the dad- small world! They told us that there are a couple of other nice, young families just down the road, and we met a couple of other really nice people, so we're hopeful that we'll love living on this street.
Also last night, Marshall tried chicken for the first time! He LOVED it. He also loves the fresh pears from the tree in our backyard. Yummy!
This week, tonight hopefully, we're taking Marshall for his first haircut. He has 2-3 inches of hair hanging down over his ears, and a fancy mullet going on in the back. I thought most babies didn't get their first haircut until 1 year, but I'm going to break down and do it early. I cut Jordan's hair, so I was thinking I'd just cut Marshall's, but I'm not really quite confident enough to do it myself just yet. So instead, I'll pay some stranger $10-15 to hold scissors next to my kid's eyeballs. :)
The unpacking is still coming along--- pictures of the house to come soon, as promised!
Britton, what a delightful post. I enjoy sharing in your life so much. I love blogs. Got the bath picture of Marshall and I will soon proceed with my project. I will eventually return both pictures to you after I copy them because I have some very definite size requirements for my project. Thank you so much for letting me include Marshall in this project. Like I said, I already have a bathing beauty picture of you in a galvanized tub. Does Jordan have one??? Must be naked. Must be bathing. Age doesn't matter. If he doesn't have a baby age photo you could always take one of him now. Just kidding, I think. No, I would take one of him taken now. It would add a certain pzzazz.
ReplyDeleteBritton, I loved the pictures. I'm so glad that you guys got to spend some time with Ean and Abby and Chasen. I looks likes you guys had a really fun day. I use to cut my kids hair too. Jordan didn't have his first hair cut until he was 18 months old. Oh yes, he had hair and a lot of it. And because he was so small and fine featured, most people thought he was a girl. He was so cute.
ReplyDeleteDon't dismiss the AARP neighbors; adoptive "grandparents" can be a real blessing!
