developmental milestones

Marshall continues to impress me everyday with all the different skills he has already acquired as an almost-5 month old. The most exciting (and potentially dangerous) thing is that he is becoming increasingly mobile. When he's on his tummy, he rolls over onto his back readily, and he also raises up on his knees and arms, making nearly-successful attempts at crawling. We're so excited for him, but nervous at the same time, since we know as soon as he becomes mobile we're doomed. We're pretty certain it'll only be a matter of weeks before he's crawling around... oh dear.

He jumps like crazy when he's in the jump-a-roo, and when he's in the exersaucer, he turns his body around to play with the different activities. One of the cutest things he does is when he reaches out with two hands for something that he wants. He'll grab your face, his bottle, his toys, the dogs' ears... he's enthralled by Austin and Sydney. He likes to pet Stewie (he actually does it!) and smiles whenever he meows. He still laughs and smiles constantly.

He is trying new solid foods, including rice cereal (which he dislikes), bananas (which he loves), sweet potatoes (which he tolerates) and carrots (which he's still not so sure about...). For now we don't really push the solids too hard, since he's still quite young- I think the most he's eaten in one sitting is about 2 tablespoons full.

One of his most greatest accomplishments as of late is SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!! Hooray! Jordan and I moved him up to his own room this week, which we'd been delaying since 1) we'd have to actually heat the upstairs, 2) his room is on different floor compared to our bedroom and 3) we'd just miss the little guy! But, while Marshall and I were away in Washington, Jordan purchased an amazing video monitor so we can keep tabs on our little guy. He's been going to bed between 7:30 and 8:30, and he wakes up between 4:30 and 5:30 in the morning. It's wonderful.

I can't wait to see what he does next!

Congrats on sleeping in different rooms, not to mention different floors....we are still working on "moving out" of chasens room into our own.
Part of the problem being our room isnt finished and part, we arent super motivated to finish it cause ...eh we're okay,(happy) being in the same room.
But seriously, its time we move out! lol
