I walked a little over 8 miles today and still no sign of "real" labor beginning. I walked 2.7 of those miles this morning, and when I got home, was having contractions, so I decided to time them. They were coming every 5-8 minutes, lasting for 1-2 minutes each. But, since they weren't really particularly painful, I stopped timing them after an hour. Then, out of sheer boredom, I decided to go for another walk... this one was 5.5 miles. I had contractions during the walk, but if I was able to walk my butt home, then I figure it can't possibly be the real thing. Now I'm just going to relax and wait and see what happens... I don't want to be too tired if labor does start anytime soon!
The really annoying part about all this is when I get automatic emails from different websites that knew about our due date- I've been getting emails that are like, "congratulations, New Mom!!" and "hope you're enjoying your time with your new baby!" Don't they know that 50% of first-time moms go past their due dates??
