Could it be?

So the problem with just spontaneously stopping birth control in the middle of a cycle is that you have no idea when you might ovulate or when your next period might come. As a result, for the past month, I've been constantly wondering if every tiny little deviation from the norm in terms of how I'm feeling has been an early sign of pregnancy or pre-menstruation. Well, yesterday I decided it was worth my time and money to just take a test to find out.

This morning, I woke up at 5, which is the usual time for me, since I deliver the school newspaper. I stumbled into the bathroom, grabbed the test, and went to the bathroom. I watched the pink color move across the test window, and yawned, thinking that it was probably going to be negative. Afterall, I only quit taking my birth control a little over a month ago. I set the test on the counter and started running the water for my shower. From growing up in the days of the water restrictions in Colorado, I've learned to shower in less than 3 minutes. So, when I got out, I glanced at the test. It was... well... I couldn't quite figure out what it was. The test showed this seemingly easy to interpret diagram, but I looked at my test and was puzzled. I had the horizontal line in the left circle, and the vertical line in the right box. And, ever so faintly, appeared a vertical line in the circle. I rubbed my eyes, put in my contacts and looked at it again. Yup, there was definitely a cross in the circle. I woke up Jordan. We both poured over the instruction pamphlet and agreed that we'd wait a couple of days and take another one to be sure. So... in other words, we're fairly certain that we're pregnant, but we're not going to go screaming it from the rooftops yet.

Look for my ecstatic post in a couple of days (hopefully!) :)
