whoa-MG

This week I started covering the Labor & Delivery unit. My shift is for 13 hours, but with the commute, I'm gone for 15 hours. Sure, I feel awful for not getting to spend time with my husband and son, but I feel so horrible for the incredible burden this places on Jordan. He was already responsible for taking Marshall to daycare, but now he also has to take care of the dogs and cat by himself, as well as cook dinner and try to get in some studying before crashing for the night. Luckily I only have 6 days total to work- 2 down means I'm a third of the way done! It's a hard balance because I really enjoy what I'm doing and my work is exciting, but of course I wish I could be home too.

It's amazing to me how much Marshall has changed in the two days I've been gone. Sunday night when I came home he was already asleep, and since he was still sleeping when I had to leave for work this morning, I only got to spend a half an hour with him in the middle of the night. Thankfully tonight when I got home he was wide awake and playful. We got to have quality bath time and cuddle before he drifted off to sleep.

Marshall is getting really good at holding his head up and using his abdominal muscles to help *try* to sit himself up!
