On Friday night, Jordan and I transformed our simple house into an all-inclusive resort. We ate junk food and made frozen margaritas. We watched some TV and headed off to bed. On Saturday morning, we had a nice breakfast and took the dogs on a long walk around the lake by our house- er resort. :) Then we went shopping FOR FUN and I got a new dress and Jordan got a new tie- which we wore to a wedding the next night in Kansas City. Marshall got to try out his new suit too! He nearly stole the show.

On Saturday afternoon we went to the outdoor community pool. At first, Marshall was not quite sure about what to make of it, since we had interrupted a short nap he started in the car on the way there, but after awhile he got used to it and loved swimming around. On Saturday night we went to a T-bones (minor league) baseball game in Kansas City. Marshall loved it but was exhausted by the 7th inning stretch so we went home a little early.
On Sunday morning, we woke up early and went for a run, pushing Marshall along in the jogger stroller. After another nice breakfast, we took the dogs to the dog park and let them run around and swim in the stream. After the dog park, we all took a nap. Ahhhh.... so relaxing. Then we got ready for the wedding and drove into Kansas City. It was so fun.
On Monday, after a long walk with the dogs, we drove into Kansas City again to go see a movie. Thankfully we timed it just right around Marshall's morning nap time, and he slept through the near-entirety of Iron Man 2. Then, we spent the next couple of hours driving around parts of Kansas City just trying to get a feel for the neighborhoods to which we might potentially move in September (we're relocating to KC so that I don't have to commute during residency). We had an amazing lunch at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants and drove around a little more. The evening was spent playing with Marshall and even working out.
It was a great weekend, and I didn't want our staycation to end. But, this morning I started my neurology rotation at the children's hospital here in town where I hope to complete my residency training, so I'm excited about that too.
oh, oh, I want to see pictures of marshall in his tux
