It's time for a much-needed update!  Baby Zucchini #2 is doing great.  We had our fetal echocardiogram as a screening measure a couple of weeks ago and everything looked wonderful, anatomically and functionally.  We still don't know the gender of the baby so you'll still have an opportunity to vote in the coming weeks.  With only 11 short weeks yet to go, Baby Z will be here in no time!  With me walking, attempting to jog or doing yoga/pilates 4-5 times per week, I've been feeling excellent and my net weight gain so far is 15-17 lbs.  I passed my glucose tolerance test (whew!) and have fortunately warded off any significant degree of anemia during this pregnancy, which means I don't have to take iron supplements like I did when I was pregnant with Marshall.  Here are some pictures of the growing belly, though the week-to-week changes are becoming less noticeable.
Marshall is growing increasingly excited about the prospect of having a baby brother or sister.  Before, when asked about what kind of baby we're having, he'd reply "a BIG one, Mommy!"  Now he consistently replies that we're having a boy.  We shall see!  We're having a tough time coming up with good geographically-minded boy names, so suggestions are welcome!  We have a handful of girl names already picked out.

Here are some recent Marshall musings:
- "Mom, may I please have a dirty apple?" This refers to an apple straight out of the fridge as opposed to one we rinse off.  :)
- When asked to close his eyes and go to sleep at night he says, "But I'm too little!"
- While changing his diaper this morning he looked down and then back up at me with wide eyes and said, "Mom!  Did my penis get BIGGER?"
- Marshall refers to my super awesome pregnancy pillow (the one that wraps around my neck and in between my knees) as my "bird nest."
- Marshall can say his ABCs, count from 1-20 in English and 1-10 in Spanish, and he can name the days of the week in order.
- Marshall can ride a tricycle!
- Marshall is engaging in more pretend play, making his toys talk to each other.
- A couple of weeks ago at his daycare party there was a bouncy house.  While driving him to daycare the following Monday, he asked his Gomi (Grammy = Donna), "Is there going to be a bouncy house there?" When informed that no, there wouldn't be a bouncy house there, he stated, "Well I guess we can just go back home then."

He's growing up so fast!
