Marshall is running all over the place and is so curious, getting into everything. He says the words Dada (for just about everything), Mama, banana, and dog (but usually the g is silent). He uses sign language to tell us he's all done, and he claps his hands after we sign a song. He gives hugs and when we ask for kisses he leans his forehead in for us to kiss. He is trying all kinds of foods and he loves to play with legos and "read" books.
Jordan continues to succeed in his preparatory work for physical therapy school. It looks like he'll finish up the semester with a 4.0. Way to go! It's so wonderful to see him so excited about his career.
My interviews are all over and I submitted my rank list a week ago for Child Neurology programs. Now we just cross our fingers until January 27th, Match Day. I've thoroughly enjoyed my rotation at Children's Mercy Hospital this month. Since there are no residents or other medical students on the team I'm working with, I've gotten to manage my own patients and I receive the pages from the nurses whenever they have a question. I write all the orders and I've gotten to do some cool procedures, including an LP. I even had the opportunity to ride along with the transport team for a couple of days, wherein I was able to fly on the CMH airplane to go pick up patients. It's been amazing to get a taste of what life will be like as a resident, and I've been continually impressed with the hospital.
Sorry for the infrequent posts... with me working 6 days a week for 12 hour shifts, I've really been trying to make my time at home with Marshall and Jordan count.
Here's a picture of Marshall on his birthday:
And here's a picture of Jordan and me on our trip to Mexico over Thanksgiving:
I get so excited when I see you have updated your blog. I don't know how you manage to post as often as you do. What a busy, busy life you lead. I'm so proud of you. I tell all my friends about my talented granddaughter and her husband and baby. I think Marshall is looking a lot like Jordan. Congratulations to you and Jordan on your road to success in life. Glad you could get to Mexico for a little break. Kisses all around. Love, Grammy
